Nursing Delivery Systems Nursing Care Delivery System

Nursing care delivery system describes how organizations deliver care to their patients. Any care delivery system is defined by these elements; Nurse/patient relationship and decision-making, work allocation and/or patient assignments, communication between members of the health care team, and management of the unit environment (Koloroutis. 2004.) In other words, nursing care delivery model defines how work is organized, who is going to perform what tasks, who is responsible for nursing care and clinical outcomes, and who makes decisions. Without knowing the concept of nursing care delivery system in their work settings, nurses may not be able to determine what changes might make a difference and develop efficient health care environment for patients and nursing professionals. Therefore, it is very beneficial for nurses to know their care delivery system and analyze the advantages and disadvantages in terms of quality of care, patient satisfaction, job satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness. This helps in making the communication process stronger in the other end by sympathizing with others. By this method the challenges are overcome to reduce conflicts by making a peaceful working environment for the employees. This not only affects in professional life but also in personal life by making the individual changing in attitude and the way he interacts with others. This can be explained further by discussing its attributes which consists of four categories: Self-Awareness This affects the individual in knowing his emotions which affects his thoughts and attitude. This helps in generating confidence by understanding ones strengths and weakness. This makes an individual aware of his ability by perceiving it. Self-Managing This helps in controlling feeling and behaviors by managing it in a healthy way (Austin, 2002). This helps the individual to stay positive in direct relation affecting behavior. This helps in adapting with the situation by being flexible in the approach following commitments. Socially Aware This makes the individual understand the problems faced by other by making them aware about their emotions. They need to connect with other people socially by knowing the power taking place in a group. The need of others should be understand by them for further development. Relationship Managing This is an art as how to foster good relation by communicating, by way of managing conflicts and how to work effectively in team (Crowne, 2009). It works in following ways: This is possible by reducing the stress of the individual This helps in identifying the problem when the individual is id facing the situation. For example: when a boss Mr, George provides work to the employee Mr.Roger is workplace and the project has already started. The employee has to submit the work as the pressure is being created continuously. There are other workers who can take over the work so this is a stressful situation. Have to know the emotions and knowing how to treat others In this time the emotions off other members have to be analyzed and have to think from people perspective (Abe, 2011). This will help Mr. Roger to know others. Having an emotional connect by making use of non-verbal communication This can be made understand by their body language as how much they are interested in getting the work. This communication process will help in knowing the individual better. In times of challenge creating a humorous situation will help to overcome it This can be prevented by being humorous at the same time being relaxed and completing the work When in conflicts it should be managed with positive mind frame This will prevent conflicts to happen by managing it with a positive mind set. EQ is one of the important motivators needed by the employees while working in an organization as it helps the employee to improve his performance. This affects the individual personally in workplace by contributing more with the help of EQ by affecting their development continuously. In a survey conducted by Forbes of 33 workplace skills it stated that EQ has the highest number of indicator in it. This is needed for 58% of total jobs available in the market. This promotes leadership by driving the individual to perform better performing the work excellently. In work it was found that 90% of workers who are on top are having high EQ whereas, the workers in middle are only having 20% of it (Bradberry, 2014). Another link is with the compensation package provided to the employee as if the employee is happy in its work he will be more productive. This is applicable for all employees by motivating and leading the individual to grow further by using his ability. This affects the physical health by keeping the individual fit and fine personally for doing the professional work. This leads to work-life balance by maintaining a healthy diet and time for work. If this is not fulfilled the individual might be affected by high blood pressure, have had stroke and heart attacks leading to depression. By this balancing means the mental state of the mind is positive by managing mood swings, have strong relationships can be isolated. This helps in balancing better relationships personally and professionally in both spheres of life by communicating with others (Duffy, 2010). Thus, it is important for the individual to have higher EQ to get a balanced state of mind which is pro-active and fit. Career Options As being a HR executive in workplace the various career options available for me are: Employee Relations Manager The role of manager here will be to change employment policies as per the government in both union and non-union workforce. The job description includes negotiating with the labors and contractors in case of issue. It consists of wages, benefits, management rules etc. Payroll Mangers The role is to handle the payroll of various departments in organization. The job role includes processing of payroll in right time and month. This needs to be first clear from the electronic software installed for solving any queries related to it (Mondy et al., 2005). Recruitment Manager They are in charge of recruiting the individuals to fill the vacant post either by internal or external staffing methods. The duty of a manager includes adopting such a strategy by making the right choice of the applicants by fulfilling the workplace needs. Training Development Manager They perform the role of training the individuals in order to develop in them the right skill and knowledge. This helps in performing the job effectively (Noe, 2006). Other option includes: HR generalist Talent Management Health, Safety Security specialist Other HR specialist working for third party i.e. consultancy Gap Analysis of an employee is done to assess the difference between future and present needs of the organization. This is achieved by evaluating the skills posed by the individual as according to the present designation (Chevalier, 2010). According to the above statement being a HR executive I am at the basic stage of the human resource department. The skills like communicating effectively with clients, having good written and spoken English helps in connecting with other HR professionals. At this stage I am recruiting the candidates who have applied for the vacant posts and learning the techniques as how to conduct the interview and choose the candidates. For being a manager I have to good at all skills so to lead my team effectively like teamwork, leadership, self motivated, communication, spoken English etc. At present I only have communication and spoken English as my strengths for the role I am acting. I use my strengths effectively to compete my allocated task and the supervis or guides me in my task. For the future I need to develop the above needs by minimizing the gap. This means checking their profile if they are suitable for the post applied. With this I have to judge the candidate for taking him in my organization as prequalification and experience. When I moved to second stage I had a feeling of moving further step by handling the administration work. This made me think that I have learnt how to conduct the interview and the third stage is evaluating my performance. I assessed that I could conduct the interview properly but sometimes had problem in selecting the right candidate. The experience was good as I learnt on-the job under the supervision of my manager. Type of Work: Classical tragic drama Setting A desolate Scythian cliff; remote antiquity Principal Characters Prometheus, the fire-bearing Titan demigod Hephaestus, an Olympian fire god Might (kratos) and Force (Bia), beings representing Power and Violence Oceanos, god of the sea, and brother to Prometheus Io, a river princess Hermes, Zeus the chief Olympian god's winged messenger A Chorus composed of the daughters of Oceanos, who converse, comment, and sing throughout the play Play Overveiw Prologue: Like other works of the Classical Age, Prometheus Bound doesn't begin in the beginning but leaps in medias res ("into the middle of things"), just as Prometheus, a defiant demigod, is brought in chains to be fettered to a desolate mountain crag. For the modern reader - as opposed to an Aeschylian audience, who would have already been conversant with the plot - a bit of background is in order. Prometheus was a god from the old order, the Titans, who had now all been overthrown by a group of young upstarts, the Olympians - all, that is, except for Prometheus. Rather than go down in honor, this half-god Prometheus, in order to avoid further violence, had chosen to desert over to the Olympian forces. In fact, he was instrumental in Zeus' ursurpation of the throne from the old Titan king Chronus. In the new order, Zeus stood as chief god. Now one of Zeus' first objectives was to destroy the rice of men, who, until then, had been a primitive, unenlightened and miserable lot. Zeus' intent was to replace mankind with a new, more noble race, servile to the gods' every whim. When the destructive proclamation went out, however, Prornetheus alone objected to Zeus' heartless proposal. He saw in man a spark of divine promise that even the gods might envy, and in order to save the human race, he willingly and courageously committed a crime: he brought fire down from heaven and taught the mortals how to use it. Furthermore, he tutored them in practical arts, applied sciences and philosophy, that he might edify, ennoble and empower them. But these saving acts were deemed highly treasonous; such knowledge in the hands of humans threatened to put them on an equal footing with the gods themselves. Furious, Zeus commanded the Olympian blacksmith god of fire, Hephaestus, and the gods of Might and Force, Kratos and Bia, to seize Prometheus and shackle him to a barren mountain-side. But Hephaestus approached his task halfheartedly. He had been taught to respect deity and he sympathized with Prometheus - after all, it didn't seem right that a divine being should suffer such scornful abuse. Pangs of sorrow overwhelmed him; to think that this god was doomed to remain in chains as the solitary guardian of a lonely Scythian cliff for all time to come! The exchange between Hephaestus and Might (Kratos) showed clearly their separate sentiments. >Even as the smithy was reasoning and pleading: Compassion will not move the mind of Zeus: All monarchs new to power show brutality .... How bitterly I hate any craftsman's cunning now! ... Prometheus! I lament your pain ... Might stood by complaining of Hephaestus' delay, and demanding full punishment: Now do your work - enough of useless pitying. How can you fail to loathe this god whom all gods hate, Who has betrayed to man the prize that was your right? ... The hammer! Strike, and rivet hurt against the rock! ... Teach this clever one he is less wise than Zeus. Now take your wedge of steel and with its cruel point Transfix him! Drive it through his breast with all your strength! The smithy had no choice but to comply with his orders; and tied with bonds "as strong as adamant," Prometheus was left alone on the jagged face of the cliff. Before departing, the mighty Kratos hurled one last taunt at the Titan god, asking how his human friends could help him now, and chuckling at the foolish Titans who had named him Prometheus, "the Forethinker." It seemed now, Kratos pointed out, that Prometheus required a higher intelligence to do his thinking for him. The captive god called upon the wind, the waters, mother earth, and the sun to look on him and see how gods tortured a god. He bemoaned his invincible fate, puzzled that he should be punished simply for loving mankind. Presently, a chorus of the daughters of Oceanos, Prometheus' brother, came on the scene. Seeing the tragic yet defiant figure on the crag, they felt both pity and admiration, and listened as their uncle described the events that had brought him to his exile. And a lot more: In-App Analytics Facebook and LinkedIn both make it easy to gather competitive data directly in-app. Here's where to find that information on each channel. Facebook: To find your Facebook data, select Insights. Scroll down your insights page to the bottom, where you'll find a section called  Pages To Watch  . Here you will see where your Facebook page is ranking among your top five competitors. You can see who else Facebook sees as your competition by selecting See More Pages. LinkedIn: To find how your company page is doing in LinkedIn analytics, select Manage Page, then Analytics. In Analytics a drop down menu will appear. Select Followers. In the followers section, scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will find your top five competitors and their growth over the past thirty days. You can see more of your competitors by scrolling through the pages at the bottom of the screen. These reports are pretty small compared to some of the analytics reports that you’ll find in other tools however they are a nice base to jump off of. To Do: Choose competitive research tools  that will help aid your competitive analysis research. Step Two: Find Your Competitors The next step in your competitor analysis is finding the competitors that you want to track. This is a vital part of your analysis because who you choose as your competitors will determine what you’re going to judge your social strategy against. Before you jump straight into your research there are two things you need to do first: Determine if you’re working with direct or indirect competitors. Understand your level of competition (local, regional, national, global, etc). There are two types of competitors:  Direct and Indirect. Direct competitors are the ones who offer the same services and products as you. For example, Domino’s Pizza’s direct competitors would be Pizza Hut, Godfather's and other delivery places. All of them offer the same services and a relatively similar product. Indirect competitors are the ones who offer some of the same services that you do, but it may not be all that they do. Unlike direct competitors, indirect competitors will overlap somewhat with your business strategy but not completely. If we go back to our Domino’s example, some of their competitors would be Walmart, DiGiorno’s, convenience stores or other grocery stores that sell pizza. In order to decide who you’re going to research first, your team needs to determine if you compete at a local, regional, national, or global level. Then, buckle down and see if you can turn up competitors in your market at each level. Google Search Google is one of the easiest and most obvious tools to find competitors. Google is careful to serve results aligned with the search intent and location of the search, which means that you need to be specific in what you are looking for and where. Things like â€Å"Starbucks near me† or â€Å"Holiday Inn’s in Sacramento California† are ways to show Google that you’re looking for a specific company or place within one area. For a local search, it could look something like: Note that attaching a city to your search is key to helping you find those local results. Especially if you want to change the town that you are looking in. A  regional search  could look like: And a national search could look like this: In-App Searches If you want to look for competitors through a specific social media channel, you can usually find them through an in-app search: To complete state and nation wide searches, change the end of your search wide to a state or the US. In addition to Facebook, Instagram also allows a location specific search. However, to see results you need to scroll through the list that pops up after your search. If you click or hit enter, it will take you to the top tagged location for that area. Another limit to the Instagram search is that locations need to be tagged on each post. That means your results will not be all encompassing like Facebook or Google. Industry Publications Most industries will have some kind of industry publication  where people can get the latest news on trends and industry tips. Think your industry is too boring to have its own media? You might be surprised. In order to find them, you need to turn once again to the almighty Google (or whatever search engine you prefer to use). Think your industry is too boring to have its own publications? Think again.To find those publications, type in publications for [insert industry here] industry. Alternately, you can also search "blogs" or "magazines" in place of "publications" to make sure your search is thorough. Google will then populate a list of the top publications related to your industry, which you can then explore. To Do: Conduct three different searches across Google, social media sites, and industry publications both on and offline to help find competitors. Step Three: Choose Your Top Five Competitors This is probably one of the most difficult parts of your process because after your research you could have a huge list of competitors. Instead of having a list of competitors that extends a page or two down your document, narrow your field down to your top five. They can span across different sizes and locations, meaning that you could have a mix of direct and indirect competitors, and local, regional, and national brands. Other metrics that you could use to help choose your competitors could be: Similar audience size. Services offered. Same number of locations. The main thing that you need to ask yourself is, who do you want to go toe-to-toe with and why? At this point, you can pull out that competitive analysis template that you downloaded earlier. You’ll notice the first tab is labeled Introduction: In that first tab you can enter in: The name of your competitor. Their location. Whether they’re a direct or indirect competitor. Their website link. To Do: Choose your top five competitors based on Whether or not they’re a direct competitor. Is your competitor a local, regional, or national brand. Enter your chosen competitors into your competitive analysis report. Step Four: Set Competitive Analysis Goals Your team is taking the time to research and monitor your competitors for a reason. But if you don’t know what that reason is, you’re going to end up sitting on a bunch of data wondering what you can do with it. To make sure that your team doesn’t waste their time, take the time to ask why this analysis is important and what questions are you hoping to answer? Some example questions that you could answer are: What gaps are our competitors leaving that we could fill to entice our target audience to choose us? What are our competitors doing well that would be difficult for us to take the time to replicate? How quickly are they growing compared to us? What types of content are they publishing that is causing their audience to interact with it? How often are they responding to their fans? These questions aren’t all inclusive by any means, but they can serve as a jumping off point for your team. Are you setting goals for your #social #media competitive analysis?You can also set goals that help put you above your competition. What that means for your team is: if you see your top competitor is growing their followers by a certain percentage, you want to grow your followers even faster. How you go on to tackle your competition will be up to you. If your competitors are growing their following by x% every month, how can you recreate that progress? You also need to determine if where your competitors are growing is something you want to invest your time into. If your competitors are growing their followers, good for them, but maybe your team wants to focus on content instead? Some questions to ask your team: What are some ways that we can increase our follower growth to x% above our top competitor? How many messages do we currently send on [Channel]? How can we increase that number? What can we do to increase our engagements per post on [Channel]? To Do: Brainstorm with your social media team and choose three questions to start that you want your competitor analysis to answer for you. You can add more as your team begins the process but don’t overwhelm them by trying to answer all 12 at once. Step Five: Choose The Channels You’ll Monitor So you have your top five competitors. Now what? Time to choose the channels you’ll be monitoring. With this process, you’ll have two different options. The first is to monitor the channels that you are active on and only observe channels that both you and your competitors are on. Meaning if you’re on Twitter and your competitor is on Twitter and Facebook, you’d only be observing their activity on Twitter. Your second option is to monitor all of your competitor’s social channels even if they are not active on all of the same ones that you are. In your competitive analysis template, you’ll see a tab dedicated to each social media channel. Depending on which channels you’re tracking, you’ll need to fill out the competitor’s name, their username or handle for each as well as a link to their profile: You’ll need to repeat that process for every social media channel that your team has decided to track your competitors on. We’ll go over the rest of those columns a little later in this post. For this part of your research, turn to the Content Strategy tab in your template: You’ll notice that this tab is laid out a little different than the rest, but don’t worry, we’ll go over how to fill in the data you’ve collected. The first thing you need to do is fill in the name of one of the competitors you’re looking to gather information on. For this example, let’s pretend we’re doing competitive research on Starbucks. Your template would look like this: Determine Post Type The first content strategy metric your team is going to track is post type. There are four types of posts that a brand can share on social media: Curated:  Posts where the original article, photo, video, etc. was created by someone else and then shared by the brand later. Original:  Posts where the content has been created by the brand and shared to its social channels. Promotional:  Posts where their main goal is to get their audience members to buy or subscribe to something. Educational:  Posts where their main goal is to educate the intended audience. So now that you have your four post types, you can begin to go through your competitor’s channels. How in depth your team wants to go will determine how far back you’re going to go into their social channels and normally falls into one of three segments: One week One month Six months Once you determine how far back you want to track their posts you can begin scrolling through feeds and recording the different types of posts you see: So let’s say that you scroll through Starbucks’s Facebook feed and see that they publish on  average seven messages per week, some are knowledge posts and some are curated posts. Then of those posts you see that 2 knowledge posts are in a video format, one is a photo and one is a blog. The curated posts on the other hand are all links. Keep track of those different media formats in your spreadsheet as well: The final section that you’re going to fill out about post types in this tab is the number of times they post within a certain date: You may need to add additional lines if there is more than one frequent post type. To do this, highlight the row you want to add to, right click your mouse and select Insert: You can continue repeating this process for each of your competitor’s social channels. This is a section in your report where you can keep track of every content type that your competitors are using on each of their social channels. Aren’t voice and tone the same thing? No, while they are similar there are subtle differences that need to be identified. Voice: Overall brand personality. Voice can be developed and described many different ways although a common practice is to summarize it in three adjectives  that encompasses how the brand sounds overall. Tone: Tone is  emotional or feeling that a brand puts behind it’s voice and it will change depending on the context and content of the post. As you’re scrolling through competitor's posts, take note of how their posts sound. In this regard, one of the main virtues of a capitalist free market system is the free and fair competition which implies that all individuals have equal opportunities but some of them just fail to exercise their opportunities, whereas others use the full potential of their opportunities that bring them success and wealth. Furthermore, the Virtues of a Capitalist Free Market System imply that the market develops freely wit hout any regulations (De George 118). Therefore, there are no external powers or factors that may influence the position of individuals or actions of moral agents. In other words, the capitalist system implies the free development of individuals which are not bound by any regulations imposed on them by the government, for instance. As a result, individuals being absolutely free cannot complain on the system because this system turns out to be regulated by natural market laws but not written laws imposed on individuals by the government or other authorities. In this regard, Marxism criticizes the major flaw of capitalism which is the class antagonism and the oppression of the class of oppressed by the class of oppressors, whereas oppressors accumulate their wealth at costs of the class of oppressed by means of the full control over means of production, whereas oppressed have nothing but their labor which is their only source of income (De George 122). In such a way, Marxism reveals t he intrinsic inequality between people in the capitalist system and the gap between social classes cannot be bridged, unless the social revolution occurs and leads to redistribution of power and change of the classes of oppressors and oppressed or the creation of the classless society. In response to such criticism, the capitalism provides the moral defense grounded on the initial equality of all people and persisting equal opportunities for all people because formally every individual has a chance to become rich and prosperous, if he/she has a good business idea, for instance. In such a way, the capitalism attempts to justify the possible inequality of individuals in their socioeconomic standing by the lack of abilities, while formally all of them have equal opportunities to exercise their abilities and available resources to reach success. However, this argument is not always effective and persuading, when confronted by Marxist ideas which reveal the essence of inequality based on the difference in the access to the means of production (De George 124). To put it more precisely, Marxists stand on the ground that people cannot exercise equal opportunities because they do not have equal access to the means of production. For instance, if a person invents a technological innovation allowing him/her to manufacture a new product, he/she holds the full control over the means of production because he owns the production line he/she has created his/her write to own it is protected by law in the capitalist system. As a result, the public cannot exercise benefits from this invention starting its mass production because the owner of the innovation is the only proprietor of the means of production and new technology. The inventor does not make his/her innovation available to the public production. Instead, he/she retains the full control over the production and means of production. In such a situation, employees have to work for the owner of the means of production to ma nufacture the innovative product and they cannot start the production of the similar product or the same product because they do not own the means of production. The only thing they own is their labor. Thus, Marxists reject the moral defense of Capitalism and insist that Capitalism is the unfair and unjust social system, where the inequality of the class of oppressors and the class of oppressed cannot be eliminated otherwise but by means of the social revolution.
